Amazon: Seismic Audio Speakers: The Sweet Sound of Success
February 18, 2013
"From its origin in 2001, Steve Acree’s business was building speakers for musicians, assembling components, and offering products online at great prices when compared to many commercial audio speakers. He began his business while in his early 20s with only a few parts for speakers and sold them online for a few years. With the momentum Amazon provided, Steve launched his own website — where he also began selling products in 2008 — and added some additional online marketplaces"

"For Steve Acree, running a small business at times seems like a life of almost daily improvisation. Looking back over Acree's career, a pattern emerges of sharp decisions in which he seized opportunities many others wouldn't see. It all started with an interest - stuff like amplifiers, DJ gear, subwoofers and snake cables. Acree began selling the equipment full time and called his company Seismic Audio. "

"Seismic Audio is an audio parts retailer for musicians. Steve Acree founded the company in 2000, selling audio parts on eBay out of his living room. His business quickly took off, and his passion evolved into a full-time business dedicated to changing the way musicians buy their gear. Over the years, the company has continued to grow its online sales and build its inventory offering, now selling a vast array of products, including rack cases, guitar and bass guitar cabinets, snake cables, powered subwoofers and amps out of a 100,000-square-foot warehouse in Memphis, Tennessee. Seismic Audio teams with Frank Hannon of Tesla
November 14, 2014
Seismic Audio recently had the privilege of working with and getting to know Frank Hannon, founding member and lead guitarist of multi-platinum band TESLA. Mr Hannon chose Seismic Audio Pro Audio equipment for use in his recording studio. After building a repore with our lead sound technician, Mr Hannon has ordered numerous Seismic Audio products ranging from PA Speakers, to Snake Cables, to Microphone Cables. He was even nice enough to leave us a great review on our website:
"Aside from recording and touring the world with the band TESLA, I also produce live shows and own a professional recording studio that produces albums. I am a proud user of Seismic Audio equipment, including their PA speakers, snakes and cables. I have found the snake boxes and cabling to be tough and solid in each application..for either stage or studio use, and you just can NOT beat the prices anywhere. I am very happy with Seismic Audio's service and quality. Not too mention the colored mic cables and snake designs make the jobs much easier! Great doing business with ya!
Thanks, FRANK HANNON"
Currently, Mr Hannon has a brand new solo album called "World Peace" coming out for Christmas release on his label Redhawk Records. You will also be able to find it on his website: frankhannon.com and at teslatheband.com
We are proud to work with awesome musicians like Frank Hannon and his record label Redhawk Records. We take pride in the fact that although he could buy any product out there, he chose Seismic Audio. We take it as a testament to our high quality products and excellent customer service. 50 Entreprenuers Explain How They Came Up With Their Business Name
September 16, 2015
My business name came about after my hobby turned into a career. I started selling pro audio speakers and audio parts on eBay while going to college. I gave everything generic labels using “SA” to start each model number. The SA was from my name, Steve Acree. After about six months I realized that things were taking off. I had all these products with SA on the packaging and needed to come up with a name. I didn’t want to call them Steve Acree speakers. At the time, 15 years ago, I had a roommate who was going to school for geology. He suggested I should do something on the lines of earthquakes since Pro Audio equipment makes a “rumble”. He came up with Seismic Activity and I changed it to Seismic Audio. This is how the name Seismic Audio came in to being and it has been the same for 15 years.
